The six elements that a photo needs are described in different ways. First a photo needs a clear center of interest. Next the photo needs to be composed well and looking good. Next , to have a good photo , it needs a focus and it needs to be clear. Then after that the photo needs to tell a story. Following that the lighting needs to enhance the photo. Those are the 6 elements in a great photo.
There are six elements to create a good photo. There needs to be a center point because the center point will be the point of the photo. The photo also has to be well composed. This means the pictures backround and center point are balanced. The focus of the picture also has to be approperiate. Another element is that the photo has to tell a story. The fifth element is that the lighting enhances the photo. An example of this is if the photo captures a happy story then the picture should be full of light. The sixth and final element is that the photo has to be creative. My first photo lacks some of these elements. When I was creating my powerpoint I noticed that the light was slightly overwhelming. Also since our first picture is a setting picture there is not just one focus point. I will have to make a few adjustments to my photo.
My first picture wasn't as strong either. I probably should make a few adjustments as well. My first photo didn't really focus in on the main subject too much and it wasn't that creative. Atleast we know now how to take strong photos.
There are many elements that go into a photo that make it an important and impacting photo to people who are looking at it. One element would be that there has to be something that the picture is focused on. Charlotte Lowrie considered this the clear center of interest on her website, and basically it means that there's something that attracts the person's attention. Another important element is the picture organized. When a picture is organized you can see what you need to see, and therefore get what you need to get out of the picture. Another important element in photography is that the picture needs to be clear (sharp) where it needs to be to emphasize the subject. If the subject's image isn't sharp, it may not be as drawing and impactful for those looking at it. Also, it is important that the picture tells a story. If a picture doesn't tell a story, it won't really be of anything and may be boring and won't appeal to anyone. Another important element is that the lighting has to show the subject and theme of the photo. If the lighting isn't on what people need to get out of the photo, it may not be obvious enough to see immediately. Lastly, a photo has to be creative enough. If the photo isn't creative, it may not be interesting, and if it isn’t interesting, it won’t appeal to anyone. My first photo, a picture of the hallway in the school, although straightforward, does include these elements. It's center is the hallway leading to every classroom, with the lockers on the side, it's organized because there isn't much going on in it, the focus is sharp where the hallway leads to the classrooms, it tells that the story takes place in the school and much has happened in those hallways, the lighting hits the floor which is the path to the classrooms, and it is creative because of the view and angle of the picture. If any picture has the six elements that a picture needs, it will instantly become interesting because all six of those elements make a picture more and more interesting.
In a summarization of all six elements, what truly makes a great photo is the backgrounds ability to enhance the centers meaning and message. With the help of certain lightings, exposures and approaches to taking a "perfect picture" one can know exactly how to enhance the focal point. When comparing it to my first picture, I feel I did a pretty good job of incorporating all six elements to greatly enhance the focal point in the image. While we can spout camera words like aperture, intensity, exposure and composition, in the end they all help to enhance the story and the message that the pictures are trying to portray.
I do believe i've incorporated all six elements needed for a "perfect picture" although the image as itself doesn't tell a story, so I might be able to improve on that. As for the focus point, I focused more on the who, in comparison to the where.
I feel like you did a very good job with including many new vocab words in your response, by addressing the more "professional words" we may use, and concluding that they still all enhance the central message and story line.
There are six factors that play a role in creating a good photograph. A center point should be present and it should be the first thing you see, the photograph should be clearly focused on this object. The second is composition. The background points have to frame and not distract from the center point. The other elements describe similar themes, what makes a good photo is balance, center point, focus, lighting, creativity, and does the picture tell a story? Each of these enhances the quality of your photo and helps make it effective. A good photo tells something to the viewer. My photos did not have much detail in lighting. I feel that I had clear center points, but my background could have been less distracting. I think that my pictures do a good job telling a story.
Did you use any effects to make your focus point clearer? If your background is distracting what did you do to make sure the viewer knows what your focus is?
A good picture should include six different elements. They are, as most said, a clear focus, good composure, telling a story, having right lighting to enhance the photo and what you are trying to capture, having a creative approach, making the focus clear through different efects. A clear focus means there shouldn't be all different things going on in one picture. You should be able to tell who/ what the picture is about and what it is saying. Good composure means it should be an interesting picture and capture people's eye. Having a creative approach is saying that it shouldn't be a straight on picture but it should, for example, have an interesting angle. Making the focus clear is that if there are a lot of things going on in your picture then you can use an effect like fading to fade the other things going on so your subject is more clear.
one element is is there a center of interest. that means is it somebody wants to see. the other one is if it is composed well. i think that means the picture is not fuzzy and people could actually see it. the third element i don't understand well enough. the next is does the photo tell a story. i guess that means that the photo tells the story going on in the photo.the next one is does the lighting enhance the subject and message? that is another one i still do not get. and the final element is, is it creative. that means is the photo creative to where nobody thought of it.
Each of my photos incorporate the six elements of a good picture. The first element includes showing the clear center of interest. meaning we should be able to tell what the main parts of the photo are. The second element is composition to make sure your important points do not get taken away from by their surroundings. The next element must depict a good focus and sharpness so you can really make out the importance of the photos. The last elements are based on showing if the photo helps tell the story based on you creativeness and the lighting/ surroundings you used to show a better importance of the photos. I believe my photos all show these elements appropriately.
There are several elements you need to consider when taking a picture. It needs to be a clear focused picture, from a good perspective, telling a story, has a center point, about an interesting topic, and is creative. Just taking a boring, blurry picture isnt going to interest people. You need to make sure that the picture is able to tell a story and people will know what the main focus is.
I agree with you Cassidy. Now that we know what people are looking for and how to take a good picture, we will be able to fix that in the future. My pictures weren't very strong which makes the unappealing to look at. Next time we take pictures for an article, or just pictures in general, we will all know how to make it so that people are drawn to the photo.
There are certain elements that are needed to make a strong picture. The center of interest of the picture must be clear, which means that someone looking at the picture must be able to understand the subject of it right away. Also, the photo must be organized very well, such as little distraction and not too many elements in the shot. It is important for the picture to be sharp and clearly focus in on the main subject. A strong picture tells us a story and a viewer can tell what is happening right away. The lighting in the shot should focus in on what is important in the picture. Lastly, the photo should be creative. My first photo proves to not be that strong of a shot. I didn't really focus and make clear of the main subject in the picture. There is a lot of space between the main subjects, which is two people. My picture does tell a story though, it is clearly two kids playing with a frisbee. I could have composed the picture better and made it so that there wasn't so much random space between the two people. Those six elements are helpful to know when taking pictures for articles and they will be helpful for the future.
There are many elements that a person should consider when taking a good quality picture. They include a main focus point, a clear resolution, enhanced lighting, contrasting details, perspective, and a story line. First of all, there must be an obvious central focus of a picture, so that the viewer is able to distinguish the main subject. Secondly, the quality of a picture must be clear and not blurry. The lighting in a picture must also be accurate so it does not take away from what the visual is trying to portray. Similarly, contrasting details are very important to pay attention to because you do not want anything in the background, such as colors or objects, to distract from the central focus. Next, the perspecitive of a picture is very important. This includes the angle at which the picture is being taken, and the view point that the photographer/artist is trying to emphasize. Lastly, a picture must be able to tell a story through emotion and other key details. I feel like i was able to portray some of these factors in my first picture, for I set the scene, and was able to show my character's feelings through her body language positions.
There are multiple things you must consider when taking a quality picture. The things you have to include in your picture is a main focus point, enhanced lighting, perspective, story line, a clear resolution, and contrasting details. These things make the person viewing the photo interested and it gets their attention. If you do not have these in your picture, the picture is lacking major quality. These are the main things you should consider when taking a quality picture.
The six elements that should be considered when taking a good photo are a story line, main focus point, a clear resolution, contrasting details, enhanced lighting, and perspective. All these elements should be followed to have an excellent photo. Your photo should always tell a story that is clear to the audience. A main focus point is always important for stating a point and getting a message across. Your perspective should always show through your photo and on the topic of the picture. The resolution in your story and photos should always be clear so the audience understands what is happeneing and is not confused. Lastly, good lighting and contrasting details make your photos stand out and easy to see.
ReplyDeleteThose are all important things that photo's need to have. Did any of your photo's do that?
DeleteDid your first photo meet the elements to be a good photo?
DeleteI think you forgot to incorporate your photos with these elements to display how they relate.
DeleteBrie Costa
do your photographs demonstrate these elements? if not, how do you think it would improve your photos if you incorporated more of these elements
DeleteYeah i forgot to talk about my photo. But my photo has a good topic and a clear center of interest and it meets the requirements

ReplyDeleteI agree with you about the setting picture. It can be hard to show just one focus point when there is a lot going on in the picture.
DeleteDo you think some pictures having more than one focal point can sometimes be a good thing?
DeleteI like how you said "the first picture is a setting picture" I agree, what specifically would you adjust about your photo?
DeleteI also had the lighting problem when putting the pictures into my powerpoint. There is a lighting setting that I used to change this.
