What are three words (they may be positive or negative) that describe the first day of school?  Be sure to discuss each of your choices.

  1. CONFUSING because I am new to Lincoln High School, FRUSTRATING because I was really nervous and it was hard to find friends. NOSTALGIA because I used to live in lincoln and its strange to see everything again after a 3 year absence.

  2. Three words to describe my first day of school are suspenseful because I really want to get to your class and find out who is in your class and how your teachers are. Nervous because I don't want to get to class and have no one I know in my classes or not like the teachers. Lastly, the first day of school is exciting because it's a new start and a new year so you get to start it however you want and make the year good or bad for yourself.

    1. I agree with you when you say it is suspenseful. You always want to know who is in your classes and if you have friends in your lunches.

  3. The first day of school has specific qualities that are unlike any other day of school. One thing that the first day of school is would be nerve-wracking. It's definitely nerve-wracking finding your classes and learning about your teachers and the rules of their class. Another thing that the first day of school is would be stressful. Again, you must find your classes and it's stressful when you have no idea where your classes are. Lastly, the first day of school is somewhat exciting. Because you have no idea what to expect, it's exciting to see what your classes may be like and what friends you have in your classes. The first day of school, as stressful and nerve-wracking as it is, is also exciting, because you have no idea what to expect.

  4. three words to describe the first day of school. one would have to be different, because they're some new teachers and new classrooms and different lunches. the second would be easy, because now you know how everything goes once you began it. the last would have to be maybe the experince because you go through different years in high school now i get to be a sophmore and we know how schudules go and not to mess up.

  5. The first day of school is obnoxious, exciting, and satisfying. I say that the first day is obnoxious because of the unprepared lost people wandering the school. I say that it is exciting because you don't know who is going to be in your class, and i say that it is satisfying because at the end of the day you know what to expect for the rest of the year.

  6. Chaotic, nerve-wracking, and memorable. I remembered the previous year right when I walked in the door, some good memories, some bad. I was constantly nervous if I would have classes with my friends or not. I was always fearing if I would be stuck with someone I hate, or a teacher that can't teach. After the first morning the first day jitters left and the school year continues on.

  7. Three words that describe the first day of school are depressing, exciting, and never racking. Depressing describes the first day of school because that means we have to go back to the reality of doing work and studying. The first day of school is also exciting because you get to see all the people you didn't get to see in the summer. Also, the first day of school means that spirit week is close and that high school soccer is starting. Nerve racking describes the first day of school because it's all new teachers and classes. I was scared that I would get lost even though I went here last year or that my teachers wouldn't like me.

  8. Long- we had to go to every class on the first day of school and it made the day drag on.

Positive- I was looking forward to seeing people that I hadn't seen over the summer, as well as who was in my classes.

Busy- After waking up early, and attending a long day at school, I had soccer practice and then a lot of homework to do.

    1. I can agree with you that it is busy. I actually had a lot of homework and things to do after school but I had to go soccer practice first. It helps with time management.

  9. Three words to describe my first daty were big, nervous, and confusing. The school is so big that it gets confusing to me.I was nervous because I got lost and went to the wrong class on the first day and was on the wrong floor. My first day was very hectic and confusing, but that is why I will never forget it!

  10. The first word I would use to decribe my first day of school would be "tedious" considering we recieved the same speech about clasroom rules and tardy policies and whatnot from each class atleast 8 times.

The second word would be "nostalgic" considering everybody was talking about our old classes and teachers and telling stories, it was sort of sad yet fun t the same time.

The third word I would use is "exciting" for most of the same reasons, meeting up with people you haven't seen all summer and talking about old times and being excited for the future.

  12. Chaotic: everyone rushes past, bumping into eachother, some with confusion on their faces as they search for their classrooms. I constantly was bumping into people and finding myself go in all the wrong directions.

Frightning: A good first impression is crucial to the first day of school because you are meeting these teachers for the first time and you will spend the whole year with them.

Excitiing: Its a whole new year, for me in a big and crazy new school. You get to meet all your new classmates, have fresh new notebooks to tear into and a bunch of new teachers!

  13. When it's close to that time that your summer vacation is ending all that having fun with your friends pulling off an all nighter and sleeping in all day and going in the pool and feeling the cold water against your skin as you swim. Sadly that time is up, and it's time to get back on track. On the first day on going back to school, starting a new school year the three main questions that go through repeatly in your head is that "Are my friends going to be in the same class as me?" "Am i going to be able to find my classes/Am i gonna be on time." "I'm so confused and lost!"
Things like that that go through your head through out the school day. Exspecially if your new to the school it can be alitle frustrating frightning to have a change Big school alot my kids alot more teachers and classes and lunch too. But once you get used to things it'll get easier and easier and you'll be more confident about what your doing and where your going. Yes once you get into highschool it can seperate you from your friends, but you will always run into them in the hallways and get to see them at lunch thats if they have the same lunch as you. Once first week of school is over things will fall in to place. And hopefully it will be a successful exciting school year!
